Frequently asked questions

FAQ

1. Which requirements had to be achieved to fly at JetSim?

Previous knowledge: There is no previous knowledge necessary. We covey all necessary information to you and assist in the way that you are able to enjoy the whole flight and are not overstrained with the actions in the cockpit. Of course it is not hindering, if you have previous knowledge. Then you have less to learn and would be able to act more independent. In any case you get a briefing and an introduction to the simulator, its operation and the details of your flight. There will be an experienced instructor from our team by your side, who will guide you through the flight and will explain everything you’ll need to know.

Minimum age, body height and maximum weight: JetSim suggests a minimum age of 10 years to fly the simulator. However with this age-group previous knowledge should be existent, so as not to be overstrained. Naturally that is no mandatory requirement. With JetSim everybody shall have the possibility to fly. We indicate that every guest should have a minimum body height of 130 cm, to reach all instruments and to be able to look outside the cockpit-windows. A maximum weight of 150 kg should not be exceeded to have enough space in the seat and cockpit.

Clothing: We suggest comfortable clothing and footwear (e.g. no miniskirt).

Disability: Also wheelchair users, people who are able to walk only with difficulty and single-armed (at minimum one hand/arm should be movable) could enjoy this unique experience. We speak from our own experiences, because we still had guests in wheelchairs. We have handicapped accessible entrances to our rooms and the simulator available (elevator and planar floors).

2. During which time and how can I contact JetSim and when could I fly?

You can fly nearly every time. That is dependent on free appointments. Normally our availability by phone is from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 o’clock. Give us a call or send us your enquiry via e-mail. We will answer you as soon as possible. The availability for appointments in the simulator is from Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 22:00 o’clock.

3. How proceed the flights in the simulator?

Apart from the “crash-course”, you get a detailed briefing in our briefing-room before the flight. The length complies with your knowledge and takes at maximum 30 minutes. After that you go inside the simulator for the booked time (e.g. one flight lesson = 60 minutes). In combination with the “crash-course you only get a short introduction in the cockpit. We gladly answer your question the whole time. On the page “flights” you will find our prices.

4. What are the prices for a flight in the simulator?

5. Could I buy a flight as a gift voucher or certificate? How does a gift voucher look like and how can I get it?

Naturally you can buy a gift certificate. The voucher is not issued to a special name, for that assignable and one year valid. The date of validation and the requirements of redemption are presented on the back side. After successful payment you get the voucher (letter or for printing via mail). Alternative you could buy and get the voucher directly in our office. Full particulars you will find under the item 11.

6. Is it needed to make an appointment directly after purchasing a gift voucher?

The gift voucher is valid for one year, so it’s not needed. Please note that we sometimes could not offer you your designated date, due to the current assignment of appointments. We recommend you to arrange an appointment for one or two weeks minimum in advance.

7. Do I have to share the flighttime with other guests during my flight?

No, the simulator and the pilot seat is reserved the whole booked time for you only.

8. Where will I take seat and may I control the simulator on my own?

You have the choice. Either you sit on the captain seat (left) or on the first officer seat (right). Naturally the captain seat is reserved for you but you can choose also the right seat, especially in case of right hander. Thereby we not leave you alone. A skilled instructor is sitting by your side, who will guide you through the whole flightoperation.

9. Could I bring someone (family, friends, etc.) along?

Of course you can take some viewers along to your flight-experience. Because of the enclosure of the simulator there is additional capacity for audience (up to four persons).

10. Do the viewers have to pay?

If these people do not make demand on our goods and services they have nothing to pay. Only if these persons also want to fly they have to pay for an appropiate JetSim-service.

11. Where is JetSim located and can I get help relating to the planning of my journey?

Please use the following link for arrival and departure. Of course the JetSim-team will give you advises for arrival, departure, hotel and potential framework. On request we can organize your whole trip as well.

12. Is it possible to choose a special airport or several airports?

You choose between nearly 24.000 simulated airports worldwide. Also we can change the airport during your flight-time. Please note that relating to your flight-time only a limited amount of airports can be used.

13. Are the simulated weather-conditions changeable?

Normally the weather is adjusted to your flying skills. If requested or if you show advanced skills every thinkable weather-setting is possible. Thereby we decide between “real weather”, where the actual weather-conditions of the particular position are imported from the internet or “requested weather”, where the weather-settings will be configured individually with the instructor-station (e.g. sunshine and blue sky, ground fog, heavy rain, snow, etc.).

14. Is the simulated time of day changeable?

Normally you fly at the same time like in reality – in real time. (e.g. in reality it is 14:00 o’clock –in the simulator we have the same time ). Naturally you can request every thinkable time and we set it up (e.g. night, dawn , dusk etc.).

15. Is it possible to crash with the simulator?

We do everything that you leave the simulator with a positive feeling of success – the successful and safe departure – and do not crash. But hypothetically speaking you can crash even if simulated.

16. Is this simulator a full-motion-simulator?

The simulator is not equipped with a full-motion. It is a so called fixed-base-simulator, which stands immovable on ground. With the 180 degree panorama view on a curved screen and the moving visuals you will get the feeling that the simulator moves. You will not miss the motion. Believe us and our operating experiences. Over and over again our customers believe to detect that “the simulator right now moves”.
